TOKYO, April 19 (Reuters) – Japan’s Kansai Electric Power Co said on Monday it was considering halting operations at the 500-megawatt No.2 reactor at its Mihama nuclear plant for checks to examine a problem with the unit’s cooling system.
On April 7, Kansai Electric, Japan’s second-largest utility, restarted operations at the reactor in western Japan after manually shutting it on March 19 to deal with dripping water inside a nuclear reactor containment vessel.
